I Need a Job

Since the time when Rachel's maternity leave kicked into unpaid mode (mid-July), my checkbook has lost about 42% of its value. To continue working on RePublic, I need to find a job. Otherwise, I'll need to quit and find a job. I contacted most of the breweries within an hour and a half drive of my house, but nobody's hiring right now. It's too bad that J.T. Whitney's doing its best business in the winter was an anomaly in the local brewing industry. Look for me the next time you're ordering fast food.

I've been struggling with the balance of my full-time job (not to mention parenting and the rest of life) and work on developing the brewery plan. Some days, it seems easy. Some days, I wish an angel investor would give me money just to work on the development full-time.

You've been that angel investor for yourself for a while now. The plans will continue if you keep at them, even if you need to take a gig to bring in the cash. Better to deal with the question now than after the baby comes, though...

Good luck!

Hey Paul, the baby's been here for five months. How about "better to deal with the question now than when the baby requires store-bought food?"

If you can deal with retail, a lot of stores hire around this time of year for holiday help. Although, I'm not sure if the economy is hindering that this time around.

Keep fighting the good fight, Joe!

Maybe try some beer bars or brewing supply stores? If I hear of anything, I'll let you know. Good luck! Keep fighting the good fight!
